As early as more than one hundred years ago, Marx and Engels made a theoretical prediction that the bourgeoisie must perish and the proletariat must win. However, contemporary capitalism has not only not per? ished, but also ushered in a relatively stable period of development. Is this a falsification of Marxist theory ? From the basic standpoint of Marxism, Harvey constructed the system theory of “space-time repair mechanism”, and ex? plored the operation mechanism and limitations of space-time repair to resolve contemporary capitalist crisis. This not only provides explanatory power for the survival of contemporary capitalism, but also reveals the contradiction between’ time-space repair mechanism’ and contemporary capitalism, and then demonstrates the inevitable de? mise of contemporary capitalism from the perspective of Marxist criticism. Revolutionary scientific theories will surely be proved in reality. The rise of new populism and anti-globalization is in essence the preliminary fulfillment of David Harvey’s “second piece of crisis theory” and “third piece of crisis theory” in the new changes of contempo? rary capitalism, revealing the development trend of internal negation of “time-space restoration mechanism.”
