Marx and Engels pointed out in the preface of the 1872 German version of The Communist Manifesto: “No matter how much the situation has changed in the last 25 years, the general principles set forth in this work are generally completely correct until now.”In 2018, General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out in his speech: “Although The Communist Manifesto was written 170 years ago, its basic principles have not been outdated and will not be outdated.”The Communist Manifesto clearly stands on the people’s standpoint and moves forward to a communist society characterized by a“community of free individual”. It has rich connotation and basic princi? ples covering all aspects of social development. In contemporary times, it is of great significance to reread it from the perspective of social governance, and summarize Marxist thinking on social stability, the construction of social basic systems, and social fairness and justice through its criticism of capitalist society and the construc? tion of future society, and to study Marxist social governance thought and obtain enlightenments from it.
