Ezra Pound, a famous American imagist, is the founder of the British and American modern literature and a faithful“believer”of Confucius. Pound devoted his life to the study of Chinese culture, especially Confucianism by translating The Four Books, The Book of Songs and other classics as he held the opinion that Confucianism is an effective medicine for the crisis of spiritual civilization in American society. At the same time, his translations also have a unique style, which is worthy of further investigation. The article analyzes the reasons for his translations, translation methods as well as philosophy of translation in order to provide some inspiration for the translation of Chinese culture in the new era.
