According to the analysis of Bourdieu’s field theory，the change of field，the lag of habit and the mismatch between field and habit are the important reasons for the problem of urban adaptation for the migrant elderly． And the emergence of the habit，the struggle in the field，the collectivity of habit and the importance of practice have significant enlightenment to solve the problem of urban adaptation． The elderly should actively practice and change their habits properly to adapt to the city field and their children’s family field． Cities and children’s family fields should also become more inclusive，open and pay more attention to vulnerable groups． The elderly and their children should also have the awareness to compete for resources in the new field，and they can make use of the collectivity of habit and form an organization to strengthen their own power，so as to be in a more favorable position in the competition for resources and promote the urban adaptation and integration of the migrant elderly．
