Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China，the academic circles have conducted in-depth studies on the historical background，origins of the theory，forming process，main content，ideological characteristics and values of the times，which generated by Xi Jinping’s ecological civilization thought and have achieved fruitful results． However，many studies in the academic circles are still in its infancy and end up in different voices，because Xi Jinping’s ecological civilization thought itself is rich in content，wide in scope，and keeps developing． Therefore，research methods and scope need to be further extended and improved． In order to further researches on Xi Jinping’s ecological civilization thought，we not only need to grasp its connotation，characteristics and realistic value in the content comprehensively and systematically，but also need to break through the limitations of literature research and strengthen historical research，empirical research and big data research． Moreover，in terms of the research scope，we should break through the domestic research scope and strengthen the study of global research vision．
