American“Cat”novels in different periods have mentioned ecological issues to varied extent. These works can be looked upon as the writers’participation in the context of criticism in the new period.Based on the conception of ecological harmony, and from the aspects of division, indifference and alienation, this research takes into account the history background and re-examines the relationship between man and nature, man and their spiritual world, as well as interpersonal relations. The aim is to depict the increasingly severe ecological crisis and express the writers'deep anxiety for ecological problems, thus revealing the writers'longing for returning to poetic nature, reconstructing a harmonious society and purifying the spiritual world.
