China develops rapidly in the way of informationization. Although informationization can bring many benefits to the society.the elderly may not be able to get used to the new environment, and they often face new challenges in their daily lives.Based on the classical grounded theory,we collected data by conducting semi-structured interviews to study the impact of informationization on the elderly life. We obtained the following findings: ①The impact of informationization on elderly who have low informatiorization level depends on the amount of care they received from their children;② while informationization allows the elderly who have high informationization level to access a rich amount of resourcesit also adversely affects their health communication with their children,as well as information security. Based on these findings,we gave our recommendations from the perspectives of support from children,urban-rural integration, elderly informationization training, and elderly in formationized market development in order to reduce the negative impacts of informationization on the elderly.
