This essay uses the data of 2015 to evaluate and compare the competitiveness of the 15 counties and cities in the Beibu Gulf urban agglomeration. Entropy method was used to compare the differences in competitiveness among counties and cities under each index and the cluster analysis was used to classify and evaluate the competitiveness levels of the counties and cities. Finally, the paper explores the developing problems existing in Beibu Gulf urban agglomerations and makes relative policy recommendations. The results show that: ① all the counties and cities under the jurisdiction of Guangxi Province are at the middle levels, while their emphasis on economic development neglects the situation of environment and infrastructure; ②The counties and cities in Guangdong Province, due to the neglect of the basic facilities and public services, the competitiveness of local cities has obviously been restricted; ③The competitiveness of all the counties and cities in Hainan Province is weak; ④compared to the other city，Nanning has been in strong comprehensive competitiveness, which has a good performance.
