As an analytical Marxist, G A Cohen advocate that we should work to reveal the social reality basis and the source of power relations of freedom from the perspective of the social property relationship. In his view, the essence of freedom is not the individual rights, but the autonomy of the individual choice. The contemporary capitalist society seems to protect the rights and freedoms of individuals, but in fact, behind this ideology of deceptive personal freedom, there is a hidden proletarian structural “collective unfreedom”. In this regard, only through the construction of an equalitarian distribution justice, the socialism freedom can come true.
