Abstract:With the development of the Internet and smart phones, the “index finger culture” was quickly replaced by the “thumb culture”. The emergence of the “thumb culture” brings convenience to college students but meanwhile has caused negative influence to them, such as independent thinking, apathy in reality communication, and covert truancy. The causes mainly lie in inadequate Internet supervision, tedious campus life and class teaching, as well as students’ weak selfcontrol. By reinforcing Internet supervision, enriching the campus life and class teaching and enhancing students’ selfcontrol, the negative effects brought by the “thumb culture” can be alleviated.
