Arts education is an important part of talent cultivation, so enhancing public arts education in the universities of science and engineering is an inevitable trend and requirement for talent cultivation. The necessity of arts education is determined by the absence of arts education in the basic education stage and the inherent demands of the arts education of university students in science and engineering. By integrating its own characteristics, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics strive to explore and establish gradually a pluralistic, comprehensive, and open public art education model. The public arts education in universities of science and engineering is expected to be infiltrating in all aspects. It demands attention from the university administrators, coordinated development with science education, and construction of arts education model corresponding to the characteristics of the universities.
