Abstract:The socio-cultural theory emphasizes that the study on the development of individuals' cognitive and psychological functions cannot divorce from its social and cultural context. From the perspective of dynamic systems theory, it can be found that the socio-cultural theory owns some dynamic properties: ① language is initial-states sensitive to individuals' cognitive developments; ② teaching scaffolding and social interactions are the attractors which can affect the zone of proximal development; ③ the variability in language and thought shows its adaptability to the social and cultural environment; and ④ the internalization of the language is a non-linear dynamic process.
