Abstract:With methods of bibliometrics and data analysis, we analyzed 221 papers on the study of university teachers' competency that are included by CNKI. The analysis results show that the study of university teachers' competency in the last decade has features as follows: firstly, the number of papers in this field increased rapidly after 2004. Secondly, the subjects of the studies were mainly the university teachers and ideological and political instructors. There were few studies concerned with university administration. Thirdly, the studies focused on the model construction of the competence and quality for university teachers. Fourthly, the papers were mostly not coauthored, which indicates that stable and relatively large research groups have not been formed in this field yet. Lastly,the authors were mainly from the universities in economically developed regions.
