In the new era, facing the comprehensive test of new contradictions and new problems, the party and the state must stand in the new historical position to rationally reflect on the great course of China’s reform and opening-up which has gone through more than 40 years, and systematically summarize the basic experience of the practice of reform and opening-up. Among them, the cultivation and promotion of the spirit of reform and opening up is the key to the success of reform and opening-up. As the most distinctive part of Chinese spirit in the new era, the spirit of reform and opening-up has obvious practical characteristics and theoretical connotations. Through the basic connotation of the spirit of reform and opening-up, this paper expounds the logical relationship between the spirit of reform and opening-up and the national spirit and the spirit of the time, and explores the cultural basis, practical basis and background of the times formed by the spirit of reform and openingup, so as to explain the significance of the spread of the spirit of reform and opening-up in contemporary China.
