As a unique member of contemporary writers, Acheng was well-known for his“root-seeking literature”in the history of literature. However, this label is also quite ambiguous at the same time. After investigating the inner cultural path of Acheng’s works, we find“secularity”runs through the creation of Acheng’s novels. In the process of discovering and establishing the secular spirit,“secularity”was reflected at all aspects of Acheng’s novels. Through his thoughts on human lives he realized the inner transcendence of secularity, giving its novels a special attraction.
